Genres:   Zouk, Compa, Cadence, Merengue, Soukous, Sega, Soca and Reggae

Bio:   DJ Mikey has had a love of music for many years, when he was a child he used to listen to his Grandad play Country music each and every Sunday.

During the 70s when he was at school in Ladbroke Grove, he would spend all his lunch time in Dub Vendor Record Shack spending all his weekly pocket money, buying all the latest tunes. By the early 80s Mikey had amassed over 5000 records to his collection.

He started playing out in the mid 80s mainly Revival and Rare groove dances, but because of his grandads love of Country music and his love of St.Lucia.  Mikey started to listen to Creole music from St. Lucia and Dominica, as this music started to change during the 80s to Zouk music,  Mikey started visiting Paris to calibrate to his collection of records.

His new love of Creole made him more enthusiastic to play in dances, during all of the 90s Mikey played for all the St. Lucian associations and St.Lucian/Creole dances including Independence dances.

In 1998 at Ives Farm East London an event took place called Who rules St.Lucia Musically Mikey made it to the final,  it was toss between two sounds Active Force V Afrique. On a one to one, best of five. Walking away with the cup was Afrique who won hands down. After winning the cup Mikey became a well known zouk/Creole DJ taking him to places like St.lucia, Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Paris to play in festivals.
Since the millennium Mikeys love for Creole music and culture has grown to the point that he shares his passion and knowledge on the radio as well as in dances. He is an all round DJ who listens to as well as plays Zouk, Compa, Cadence, Merengue, Soukous, Sega, Soca and Reggae.
